Verification and AML
We confirm who each player is before taking any deposit, and we keep watching for money laundering signals for as long as an account exists. Below you will find how our checks work, which documents we accept and what happens when information does not match.
Knowing why we verify
A great night out needs a safe floor, and verification keeps ours that way.
Where local law says yes, we say welcome. Canadian rules guide us on age, on identity and on money laundering. They require us to know every customer, confirm each one is an adult and spot money that has no business passing through a casino. Verification works for you too: it stops anyone from opening an account under your name or grabbing your winnings.
- Verification takes place before any first deposit.
- Location checks make sure you are connecting from somewhere we are able to accept players.
- Further checks can be triggered later by activity on the account.
Handling failed or missing checks
Until your details are confirmed, deposits and play remain blocked on the account. Where checks fail once an account is already active, these steps follow:
- Deposits, bets and withdrawals are paused while we look into it.
- If something is missing, we send you an email setting out what we need and how to submit it.
- A forged or tampered document results in the account being closed, and any winnings tied to it are cancelled.
- Where we are legally required to, we hold funds and pass details to the proper authorities.
- We may not be able to tell you why, if the law prevents it.
Usually the fix is easy. Problems tend to be a blurred photo, a card past its expiry date or a name that differs. Upload a sharp new copy and we will process it fast.
Screening for sanctions and political exposure
Every player is checked against Canadian and international sanctions lists when the account opens, and again on an ongoing basis.
We screen politically exposed persons as well: anyone in a high-profile public post, now or in the past. Family members and close associates face the same screening.
- A sanctions list match means we will refuse to open an account for that person and will not let an existing account remain active.
- Politically exposed players can still play, with extra checks and closer monitoring.
- Senior staff sign off before such an account goes live.
Monitoring accounts over time
Passing verification does not end our checks. Account activity stays under ongoing watch for anything that might suggest money laundering or fraud:
- Large or rapid deposits that do not match past play.
- Funds deposited and then cashed out after almost no betting.
- Several accounts traced to a single player, or linked by a shared device or payment method.
- Payment methods registered to another person.
- Unusual changes in where a player connects from.
If an account shows unusual activity, we may put it on hold and ask for more documents before any further play.
Keeping records and reporting
Canadian law determines how long ID documents, transaction records and verification results must be kept, and we retain them for the whole of that period, including after an account closes.
- Records are stored securely and accessed only by staff who need them.
- Suspicious transactions are reported to the federal financial intelligence agency, as legally required.
- We report large cash-equivalent transactions where rules call for it.
- If a report is filed, the law bars us from telling the player.
Your Privacy sets out where your data lives and how it stays protected.
Confirming where your money comes from
If you deposit larger sums, play at higher values or trigger a flag in our monitoring, we will ask where your funds come from. Questions may cover the origin of particular deposits and, now and then, your wealth as a whole.
Documents we accept include:
- Recent payslips or an employment letter.
- Bank statements showing the funds arriving in your account.
- Paperwork showing an inheritance, an investment or a property sale.
- Business accounts or tax documents if you are self-employed.
We may pause play until the documents you send meet our requirements.
Checking identity and age
At sign-up you supply your full name, birthday, email and home address, and each detail is checked against your documents.
- Identity and age: show us a valid driver's licence, passport or province-issued photo card. The document must be in date and captured in full colour, with every edge and corner in frame.
- Address: provide a recent piece of official government mail, a utility bill or a bank statement showing the home address where you live now.
- Payment ownership: for a card, a photo in which the security code and middle digits are hidden; for an e-wallet, a screen capture that shows the account is in your name.
- Selfie: on occasion we request a picture of your face next to your ID, so we know it is truly you.
Your account, your documents and your payment methods must all carry the same name. We only move money in or out using methods registered to you.
